Sun Primary Logo

The Connecticut Sun is one of the most beloved teams in the WNBA, and their logo has been a source of pride for fans since their inaugural season back in 2003. The primary logo used by the team was designed to evoke a sense of strength and energy, while also representing some key aspects of Connecticut's history.

The main element featured on the logo is an orange sunburst with yellow rays radiating outward from its center. This symbolizes not only sunshine but also hope and optimism—values that are important to many people living in or connected to Connecticut. Additionally, it’s meant to represent both dawning lights as well as the sunset—symbolizing beginnings as well as endings; something which resonates strongly with those who have seen great success throughout this team's long-standing history over time.

Below this image sits two bold words: “Connecticut Sun” written out across them using black lettering against an orange background gradient that fades from dark at the bottom up into lighter shades near the top edge – again emphasizing the idea behind the sunrise/sunset concept mentioned above (in addition colors are symbolic too). Over years minor changes have been made such as adding stars on each side wordmark portion during the 2012 season and then switching the color scheme slightly in 2016 so instead of having a red-orange gradient now had blue purple one but the overall shape remains the same today still looks just like did when first unveiled nearly two decades ago!
