Fever Wordmark Logo
The Indiana Fever is a professional women's basketball team based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The franchise was founded in 2000 as one of the original eight teams that formed the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Since then, they have become one of the most successful and popular franchises in the league.
The Fever’s logo has evolved over time to reflect its success on and off-court. Their current wordmark logo symbolizes strength and unity with its bold font choice set against a bright orange backdrop. It first appeared during their inaugural season when it served as an alternate for their primary roundel mark featuring three stars representing each decade since women’s pro basketball began back in 1996.
In 2003, the wordmark became more prominent when it replaced both logos from previous seasons on all official uniforms and merchandise items such as hats, shirts, jackets, etc. This change was also accompanied by an updated color palette which included shades of blue to match with other WNBA franchises at that time.
Over time small adjustments were made to give this iconic design greater impact including adding shadows or outlines around individual letters for emphasis or making minor tweaks like increasing letter spacing between words for better readability. The latest update took place prior to the 2019 season where they introduced a new version featuring thicker lines along with additional airbrushing effects giving it modern look while staying true to its roots.
As we can see, Indiana fever has come a long way since the beginning but still managed to keep core elements intact throughout the evolution process thus creating a timeless classic that's recognizable worldwide today.
