Sting Alternate Logo
The Charlotte Sting is one of the most iconic franchises in the Canadian Football League (CFL). Since its inception in 1996, it has been a beloved team for football fans across Canada and beyond. In addition to its rich history, the Sting also boasts an array of alternate logos that have become part of its identity over time.
The first alternate logo used by the Charlotte Sting was unveiled prior to their inaugural season in 1996. The logo featured a black-and-yellow shield with a stylized “S” inside it and two crossed swords underneath it – symbolizing strength and courage on both sides of the battle. This design remained unchanged until 2003 when they changed to an updated version featuring more vibrant colors, which included red as well as yellow and black accents around the edges.
In 2011, another new look was introduced for use during away games only: A three-dimensional stingray swimming through the water with wings spread out wide behind him while gripping onto a football helmet at his side – all set against a blue background representing Lake Ontario where many CFL teams play their home games each year. This design became so popular among fans that they eventually made it into regular rotation alongside other designs such as those featuring stars or flames encircling either side of “Sting” lettering above or below them respectively; however, this style hasn't been seen since 2015 when yet another update took place adding white stripes along each edge giving off even greater vibrancy than before!
Finally just last year (2020) we saw what might be considered one final change taking place - introducing yet again more coloration but this time including green hues within some areas making up various elements like those found within traditional heraldic shields often associated with royalty & nobility throughout history! All these different looks help create unique identities not only between rival teams but also amongst passionate supporters who proudly wear them wherever they go show off loyalty towards their favorite franchise - something which can never truly be replaced no matter how much things may evolve over time...
