Silver Stars Primary Logo
The San Antonio Silver Stars have a long and storied history in the WNBA, dating all the way back to 2003 when they were founded as an expansion team. Throughout their time in the league, they’ve had several different logos that represent their unique identity. Today we take a look at how those logos have evolved over time and what each one says about this Texas-based franchise.
When it comes to the primary logo history for the Silver Stars, there are two main designs that stand out: The original “starburst” design from 2003-2007; and then its modern iteration which was introduced in 2008. The starburst logo featured five stars radiating outward with silver accents around them on a black background – representing both the power and energy of San Antonio basketball fans along with paying homage to Texas state flag symbolism. This is also where we get our name “Silver Stars” from!
Moving forward into 2008, things began taking shape when graphic designer Todd Radom presented his concept of an updated version of this iconic symbol—one featuring three stars instead of five arranged inside a circle similar to those used by other professional sports teams such as MLB's Philadelphia Phillies or NFL's Houston Texans. A bolder font was chosen for lettering purposes while still keeping some elements reminiscent of its predecessor (i.e., star iconography). Finally adding color within both circles created more depth than before - making it easier for viewers/fans alike to recognize who exactly represented these symbols regardless if seen online or offsite during games & events held throughout city limits!
As you can see, the evolution behind San Antonio Silver Star Primary Logo has been quite remarkable since its inception date nearly 15 years ago now; yet no matter how much times changes so do not forget where started - ultimately giving us something truly special honor today going forward into future seasons ahead!
