Silver Stars Alternate Logo
The San Antonio Silver Stars have a long and storied history in the WNBA, dating back to their inception as the Utah Starzz in 1997. Over the years, they’ve had several different logos that represent their team's spirit and identity. In this blog post, we’ll take a look at some of these alternate logos throughout San Antonio Silver Stars' history.
One of the earliest alternate logos for San Antonio was introduced during its first season with an outline of Texas with five stars inside it representing each player on the court - two white stars on top followed by three silver ones below them symbolizing victory over adversity. This logo is still used today as part of many promotional materials for both home games and away trips alike!
In 2009, when they changed their name to “San Antonio Silver Stars” from “Utah Starzz," another new logo was created featuring a silhouette image depicting two hands clasped together along with four stars surrounding them – one gold star above all others signifying leadership while additional three silver ones stand out beneath it representing unity among players within the organization itself! The colors used were also updated from traditional reds/blues found before into more modern shades including black & grey tones which better reflect contemporary design trends seen around the league today too (in addition to being reflective city's rich Hispanic heritage).
As time went on though there would be yet another rebranding effort made by the team after the 2017 season saw the end of the longtime affiliation between franchise ownership group Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E) who held rights since 2003; now under the ownership umbrella AT&T Center-based company called Lone Star Sports & Entertainment LLC., fresh redesigns came about including 2018 primary mark consisting solely letter "S" encircled laurel wreath motif plus secondary option where same concept appears atop circular background featuring gradient blue hues transitioning into white near center point respectively–both paying homage original five-star insignia seen earlier iterations prior but done so much more stylishly than before!
Overall then we can see how evolution has taken place regarding various incarnations that make up the official emblematic representation behind the beloved WNBA franchise known the world over: something which will undoubtedly continue to evolve even further years come given the ever-changing landscape of professional sports leagues this one always bring forth…
