Monarchs Primary Logo
The Sacramento Monarchs have been a staple of the WNBA since 1997, and their iconic logo has been with them every step of the way. The primary logo for the team has gone through several iterations over its 23-year history, but it still remains one of the most recognizable logos in all of the women’s basketball.
When they first joined the league in 1997, their original primary logo featured a regal monarch butterfly set against a teal background with purple accents. This design was used until 2003 when it was replaced by an updated version that included more vibrant colors and larger wings on either side to emphasize power and strength.
In 2006, another redesign took place as part of an overall rebranding effort for both men's and women's teams at Sacramento State University (which owns both teams). This new look kept many elements from previous designs while adding some unique touches such as stars around each wing tip to represent California’s state flag. It also incorporated two shades of purple into its color scheme which is now widely associated with Sac State athletics programs today!
In 2013 yet another update occurred where they changed out their old font style for something bolder that better captured what this team stands for: excellence on the court combined with class off the field! The last major alteration came just last year when they decided to modernize further by replacing all white outlines with design elements like star points or lettering strokes - bringing us up-to-date where we are today; proud owners & fans alike can always recognize our beloved Monarch Logo no matter how many times it changes shape or form throughout years ahead...
