Rockers Primary Logo
The Cleveland Rockers are a professional women's basketball team that played in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) from 1997 to 2003. The team was based out of Cleveland, Ohio, and had some great success during its time in existence. One of the most recognizable aspects of the Rockers was their primary logo, which featured a bold rocker symbol with two stars above it and “Cleveland” written underneath. This logo has become synonymous with the city and its sports teams over time, as well as being one of the most iconic logos in WNBA history.
The original design for this logo came about when former owner Gordon Gund commissioned graphic designer Christopher Arena to create something unique for his new franchise back in 1996-97 season ahead of its inaugural season later that year. Arena drew inspiration from various sources such as music icons like Jimi Hendrix who often used similar symbols on album covers or t-shirts; he also wanted to incorporate elements from both traditional Americana imagery along with modern aesthetics at play within the contemporary culture at that time period too - hence why there are two stars included within this particular design aesthetic here too!
The colors chosen by Mr. Gund were navy blue, white & red - all three hues have since come together beautifully into what we now see today: an instantly recognizable image representing not only just one specific sport but rather an entire region/city itself! This is why it remains so popular amongst fans across different generations – they can connect through shared experiences associated directly or indirectly related back to these same colors & shapes found within our beloved emblematic crest which proudly stands tall atop any given jersey worn by players past present alike...
