Rockers Alternate Logo
The Cleveland Rockers have a long and storied history in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Since joining the league in 1997, they have had several alternate logos that capture their unique identity. From classic designs to modern interpretations of their original logo, each one has its own special place in Rockers' history.
One of the most iconic alternate logos used by the team is known as "Rocky," which was introduced during their inaugural season. This design features an anthropomorphic rock with arms crossed and a determined look on its face. The color scheme consists mainly of black and white, with blue accents for added contrast and depth. It quickly became a fan favorite due to its boldness and simplicity – something that other teams lacked at this time period when it came to branding themselves within WNBA circles.
In 2001, another popular logo was created for use during home games: "Rocking Horse." This design featured an old-fashioned rocking horse atop two basketballs set against a navy background; it also included red stars along both sides as well as yellow lightning bolts emanating from behind them - all elements meant to represent the speed & power associated with playing basketball at this level! The overall effect was eye-catching yet subtle enough not to distract too much attention away from what mattered most: winning on the court!
During the 2003–2004 seasons there were some changes made such as adding more colors like green & orange into the mix while keeping the same basic outline intact; additionally “Cleveland” script font replaced the previous version so fans could easily identify the team name no matter where they looked or stood inside arena watching game live action unfold before eyes… All these tweaks helped create a solid foundation upon which future iterations based on the original concept would build over the years to come!
In the 2005–2006 campaigns, we saw the introduction brand new look called “Lady Liberty” which depicted a female figure holding the torch high above their head while wearing jersey number '00'; her stance symbolized the freedom spirit embodied by the franchise since day one back in 1997 when first joined WNBA ranks… As part redesign process entire palette shifted towards warmer tones giving feel a fresh start after eight successful seasons under the belt already established a strong presence among professional sports leagues across the country!
Today Cleveland Rockers still continue to uphold the legacy left behind by those who preceded them through multiple eras and different looks but the ultimate goal remains the same—to bring the best possible product out onto the court night after night to entertain the diehard fanbase city loves nothing more than seeing hometown heroes victorious every single contest played
