Starzz Alternate Logo
The Utah Starzz was a professional women's basketball team based in Salt Lake City, Utah. They played in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) from 1997 to 2002 and had an alternate logo that was used during their time as part of the league. The alternate logo was created by designer Tom O'Grady and featured a yellow star with five points outlined in blue on a white background. The design also included two red stripes across the top of the star with "Utah" written above it and "Starzz" written below it. This design is still popular among WNBA fans today, even though it hasn't been used since 2002 when they relocated to San Antonio, Texas, and became known as the Silver Stars before eventually becoming known as Las Vegas Aces after moving there for the 2017 season.
The original intent behind this design was to represent both stars found on both sides of Utah’s state flag along with its nickname “the Beehive State” which symbolizes hard work & industry within its borders. As such, this logo has become one of the most recognizable symbols associated with WNBA teams due not only to its unique shape but also because of how well it represents what makes up Utah itself- perseverance & strength! There have been many iterations over time including different colors or variations but ultimately nothing can compare to the original version seen here today- making sure that legacy lives forever!
