Stars Alternate Logo
The San Antonio Stars have been a staple of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) since 2003. Throughout its history, they have had several different alternate logos that represent the city of San Antonio and its culture. In this blog post, we'll take a look at some of these alternate logos and their history with the team.
The first logo was created in 2005 when the team changed its name from “San Antonio Silver Stars” to simply “San Antonio Stars”. The logo featured an orange star with five points surrounded by a white circle containing blue text reading "SAN ANTONIO". This design has remained relatively unchanged over time but has seen slight variations such as changing colors or removing elements like stars or circles for special occasions like holidays or charity events.
The second logo was introduced in 2009 to commemorate 10 years since WNBA's establishment in the 1997-98 season. It features two basketballs crossed together along with blue, red, yellow, and white stripes representing different cultures found within Texas such as Mexican, German, African American, etc. This symbolizes how diverse our state is while still being united under one banner -the WNBA.
In 2012 another new logo made its debut featuring three stars arranged into a triangle shape above an orange background which represents unity between players on the court during games & off the court through community work done by them year-round. This particular mark also includes small details such as shadowing around each individual star giving it more depth than previous versions did before it debuted officially on July 4th of that same year!
Finally lastly most recently 2017 saw the introduction of yet again another new alternative emblem which consists primarily black silhouette outline depicting the Alamo mission building located right here in downtown San Antonians! As good addition, this badge also contains four smaller gold stars placed outside the perimeter inside an oval-shaped border alluding once more to strengthening solidarity amongst the entire organization & fan base alike ...
Overall each iteration brings something unique table whether the color scheme or symbolism behind the imagery used overall message conveyed remains the same: pride commitment excellence hardworking spirit embodied by both past and present members franchise who continue to strive to achieve greatness despite obstacles that may come their way!
