Sky Primary Logo
The Chicago Sky is a professional basketball team based in the city of Chicago, Illinois. Founded in 2006, they are one of the original eight teams that make up the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Throughout its history, they have had several different primary logos and color schemes that help to define its identity as an organization.
In 2006 when the franchise was founded, its first logo featured a white sky with two red stars on either side of it. The name “Chicago Sky” was written underneath in blue font and outlined by yellow lines at each end. This logo served as both an homage to Chicago's nickname “The Windy City” while also representing its vibrant nightlife through its star-filled sky imagery.
In 2011 after five years with this design, they changed things up by introducing a new look which included four stars arranged around an orange circle containing three stripes – one green stripe flanked by two gray ones – all set against a navy blue background. This time instead of being placed within or above clouds like before; these stars were now seen shooting out from behind them creating more movement throughout this version than ever before. Additionally, there were no words present here so viewers could easily identify who exactly this image represented even without any text accompanying it.
Finally, for 2017 another rebranding took place where we saw yet again another new look come about for our beloved team; however, some elements remained such as those same four stars still surrounding that orange centerpiece but now accompanied with white lettering spelling out "CHICAGO SKY" across them along with additional colors added into the mix including silver & teal accents found throughout entire design giving us much more dynamic feel overall compared previous iterations used over the past decade-plus. Together make what can be considered the finest representation yet what makes it unique among other franchise leagues today!
