Colonels Logo History

The Kentucky Colonels are a professional basketball team that has been in existence since the early 1960s. Their logo is one of the most recognizable symbols in sports, and its history dates back to before its inception as a franchise. The original Colonel's logo was created by legendary artist Rube Goldberg, who designed it for use on promotional materials for an exhibition game between two teams from Louisville and Lexington in 1923. This design featured a cartoon-style image of an old-fashioned military officer wearing glasses and holding up his hat with both hands while looking at the viewer with a stern expression on his face.

The current version of this iconic logo was introduced during their inaugural season as part of their uniforms which were designed by Adidas in 1964. It features the same cartoonish figure but now he’s standing upright instead of bent over like before, complete with updated colors that include navy blue pants along with white stripes running down each leg giving him more dimension than ever before seen on any other sports team’s uniform or logos across all leagues until then (and still today).

Today this classic image remains unchanged even though many other aspects of it have changed throughout its long history such as color schemes used when they moved to different cities or eras where certain trends were popular among fans at that time; however, no matter what happens you can always count on seeing “the Colonel" proudly displayed wherever there are Kentucky Colonels fans around!
