Pipers Logo History

The Pittsburgh Pipers were a professional basketball team that played in the American Basketball Association (ABA) from 1967 to 1968. The team was based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was one of the original members of the ABA. Throughout their brief history, they had several different logos which changed over time as ownership changed hands and new designs were created.

One of their first logos featured an orange basketball with two black stripes on either side, along with a white “P” for “Pittsburgh” at its center. This logo would remain unchanged until 1969 when it was slightly modified to include a yellow starburst behind it and more prominent red lettering around it reading “Pittsburgh Pipers". In 1970 this design underwent another slight change adding blue trimming around both sides as well as some minor changes to make up what is now known today as the classic Pittsburgh Pipers logo which has become synonymous with ABA nostalgia amongst fans who still remember them fondly despite their short existence within professional sports leagues such as this one

In 1975 when ownership once again changed hands there came yet another alteration to the teams' iconic look by introducing more vibrant colors such as blues greens yellows oranges purples etc all surrounding an updated version of "P" inside a circle shape while keeping much resemblance towards its predecessor but allowing itself enough uniqueness so that fans could easily recognize who they are supporting even if only seeing part or none at all due to distance away from any given game being held during those days. Since then no other major alterations have been made however small ones can be seen here or there depending on how closely you look into each individual season's respective uniforms/logos used throughout a year-to-year basis thus ensuring continuity between past and present & future generations alike regardless of whether we're talking about official merchandise apparel among other things associated directly related towards beloved franchise like these very own Pittsburg Piper's!
