Roughriders Wordmark Logo
The Saskatchewan Roughriders are one of the oldest and most storied teams in the Canadian Football League (CFL). As such, their iconic wordmark logo has gone through several iterations over the years. The original version of this logo was created in 1947 when they first joined the CFL as a charter member. It featured an interlocking “S” and “R” with a bold yellow outline around it to represent their home province, Saskatchewan.
In 1979, an updated version of this logo was released which saw some subtle but significant changes made to its design elements. This included making both letters slightly larger than before while also adding some additional detailing within them for extra emphasis on each letterform itself. Additionally, there were now two sets of stars above each letter representing Canada's two official languages - English & French - which further highlighted its national identity as part of Canada's premier football league at that time period.
In 2006 another update took place where both letters were given more rounded edges giving them greater visual appeal overall; however other than that no major alterations occurred until 2013 when yet another revision happened bringing us up-to-date with what is used today by fans all across North America! This latest iteration features, even more, curvature along with thicker outlines plus brighter colors throughout so it stands out even better against any background or color scheme you might have going on around it too!
All these different versions combined have helped create one unique symbol that truly embodies everything about what being a fan or player for Saskatchewan Roughriders means: loyalty & pride no matter how many times things may change over time – something we can all appreciate here at CFL headquarters!
