Stallions Primary Logo
The Baltimore Stallions were a Canadian Football League (CFL) team that played in Baltimore, Maryland from 1994 to 1995. During their two-year existence, the Stallions had one of the most recognizable logos in all of the professional sports. The primary logo featured a white stallion rearing up on its hind legs with its front hooves raised and facing forward while standing atop an orange football field surrounded by blue sky and clouds.
The design was inspired by several sources including classic equestrian statues such as those found at Pimlico Race Course, which is located just outside of downtown Baltimore near where Memorial Stadium used to stand before it was demolished in 2002. Additionally, the colors chosen for the logo – navy blue, gold, and white – are taken directly from both Maryland’s state flag as well as those used by many other professional teams within Maryland such as baseball’s Orioles or basketball’s Bullets/Wizards franchise (now known simply Wizards).
This combination made for an iconic look that has been seen on everything from t-shirts to hats over the years since then despite no longer having any official ties with either CFL or NFL teams based out of Baltimore anymore today. The original Stallions logo also served double duty when they moved southward into Memphis Tennessee during their second season; instead of being referred to as “Memphis Mad Dogs” after changing names due to relocation changes mandated by league rules at the time period between 1996–97 seasons respectively! It goes without saying this timeless symbol remains beloved among fans who remember days gone past fondly still today even though there may not be any tangible connection left between current franchises operating out of city limits now…
