Texans Alternate Logo
The San Antonio Texans have a long and storied history in the CFL, but few people know about their iconic alternate logo. The Texans' alternate logo has been around since the team's inception in 1995 and has become an integral part of their identity over the years.
The original design featured a silhouette of Texas with its star-shaped outline filled with red and white stripes that formed a shield shape. This was meant to represent not only Texas itself but also symbolize strength and protection for those who play under it. In addition, two crossed longhorns were included on either side of the shield to further emphasize Texan pride.
In 2003, when new ownership took control of San Antonio’s franchise they decided on updating some aspects including changing up their logo designs slightly by adding more color as well as making minor tweaks such as altering some lines within it for better detail definition or simply replacing them altogether with something else entirely different from what had previously been used before then. For example, the Longhorn horns were replaced by five stars representing each point on Lone Star Flag which is seen all throughout the state. Other changes included swapping out colors like blue instead green or vice versa, while still keeping some basic core elements intact so fans could easily recognize the difference between primary & secondary logos without too much difficulty.
Ultimately though this redesign didn’t last very long due mainly because public opinion wasn't favorable towards change; therefore after just one season, they reverted back old look which remains today even though there have been several attempts over the past decade-plus tries modernize again without any real success yet being achieved until now anyway!
Overall this classic alternative emblem helps keep the tradition alive while simultaneously giving the team a unique edge among other franchises compete against each year during regular season games - no matter how small changes may be compared original design."
