Roughriders Primary Logo
The Saskatchewan Roughriders are one of the most iconic teams in Canadian Football League (CFL) history. The team's primary logo has been a source of pride and inspiration for fans since its inception in 1910, with several iterations over the years that have become synonymous with Rider Nation.
The original logo featured a green shield-shaped crest bearing three white stars and two crossed footballs, which was used from 1910 to 1946. It was replaced by an updated version featuring four stars instead of three and more intricate details on the footballs. This design remained until 1978 when it underwent another major overhaul to incorporate a fierce Rider head wearing a helmet adorned with wings at each side – an image that is still widely recognized today as representing the team’s strength and spirit on game day!
In 1989, this classic look received another update when red accents were added around both sides of the shield; however, it wasn’t until 1997 that we saw what would become known as “the modern era” begin to take shape: A larger rider head surrounded by bolder colors including black outlining along its edges plus brighter shades like yellow or gold being incorporated into certain elements such as his eyes or mouthpiece respectively (which also serves double duty here symbolically speaking). Finally, after some minor tweaks over time - including removing any hinting towards Native American imagery - we now have our current iteration which features just two colors: green & white!
Overall there is no denying how much these logos mean not only for Riders fans but all CFL enthusiasts alike; they represent decades worth of tradition while simultaneously paying homage to past generations who paved the way so future ones could enjoy Canada's great game too!
