Renegades Primary Logo
The Ottawa Renegades are a professional Canadian Football League (CFL) team based in the nation's capital, Ottawa. The team has had its fair share of ups and downs since its inception in 2002, but one thing that has remained constant is its iconic primary logo. In this blog post, we will take a look at the history behind the Ottawa Renegades' primary logo and how it came to be such an integral part of the franchise's identity today.
The original logo for what was then known as "the new CFL franchise" was designed by renowned graphic designer Bruce Mau back in 2001 when he was hired by former owner Bernie Glieberman to create something unique for his new venture into professional football. The result? A bold black-and-red design featuring two crossed tomahawks set against a circular shield with three stars above it - all elements which would become synonymous with not only the Renegades brand but also Canadian football itself over time.
In 2004, after two years of playing under this original design, Glieberman sold off his stake in the club and allowed ownership to change hands once again; however, they kept on using Mau’s initial concept as their official emblem until 2007 when they decided to update things slightly by adding some additional color – namely white – along with more intricate details like feathers hanging from each tomahawk handle and four stripes around its circumference instead of just three previously seen before then. This version is still used today across all forms of media including apparel merchandise items related directly or indirectly towards supporting/promoting both current players and past alumni alike so there’s no doubt about how popularized these visuals have become within recent years!
Overall though regardless if you’re talking about “old schoolers who remember those early days during Bernie G's reign or newer fans who may never have even heard him mentioned before now," everyone can agree that this particular visual representation holds strong ties any individual associated with the organization whether through fandom loyalty otherwise because let face facts here: without logos like these ones out there representing us Canadians wouldn't know where stand our beloved sport either way shape form!
