Stars Logo History

The Philadelphia Stars were a professional American football team that played in the United States Football League (USFL) from 1983 to 1985. The team was one of the most successful franchises in the USFL, winning two championships and making it to three championship games. As such, they have become an important part of Philadelphia's sports history and their logo is still remembered fondly by many fans today.

When first created for its inaugural season, the Philadelphia Stars' logo was designed by graphic artist Lou D’Amico and featured a blue star with white accents on top of a black circle outlined with yellow stars inside red borders. This design remained unchanged until 1984 when it underwent some minor alterations; namely, changing from five-pointed stars to six-pointed ones while also adding two more yellow stars around its circumference as well as replacing red outlines with gold ones instead.

In 1985 however - which would be their final season before folding due to financial difficulties caused by poor attendance - another change occurred when navy blue replaced black within both circles surrounding each star thus creating what has since become known as “the classic” version amongst fans who remember this era fondly; even though no official name exists for this particular incarnation either!
