Lions Alternate Logo
The BC Lions have a long and storied history in the Canadian Football League (CFL). From their first season in 1954 to today, they’ve been one of the most successful teams in the league. The team has had several different logos over its years of existence, but none more iconic than their alternate logo.
The original alternate logo was created by artist Bob Mollek and debuted during the 1974 season. It featured a lion with an orange mane on top of a navy blue circle surrounded by gold stars representing each CFL championship won by the team since 1954. The design also included two crossed swords beneath it which symbolized strength and courage; attributes that are essential for success on any football field!
Since then, there have been several variations to this classic design as technology advanced over time: In 1998, for example, computer-generated graphics were used to create an updated version featuring sharper lines and brighter colors; while 2008 saw another revamp with new fonts being introduced into play alongside more vibrant color schemes such as reds & yellows!
Today's version is still based on Mollek's original artwork from 1974 but features modern touches like sleek outlines around both elements - giving it just enough edge without losing any of its traditional charms! This timeless emblem continues to be seen across all types of merchandise associated with BC Lions including jerseys, hats & other apparel items sold throughout Canada every year - making sure everyone knows who reigns supreme when it comes down to CFL royalty status here north-of-the border!
