Maulers Logo History
The Pittsburgh Maulers logo has been a part of the city’s history for over three decades. The original logo was created by graphic designer Tom Tsuchiya and was used from 1984 to 1985 when the team played in the United States Football League (USFL). It featured a black, white, and yellow color scheme with an angry-looking mauler mascot wearing a football helmet. The original design also included two large stars on either side of the mascot that represented Pittsburgh’s two professional football teams at that time: The Pittsburg Steelers and Pirates.
In 1986, after changing ownership groups, new owners decided to update their branding with an updated look for their uniforms and logos as well as introducing new colors into their palette including blue along with red accents throughout various elements such as lettering or borders around designs. This second version kept many aspects from its predecessor but changed up some details such as making it more modernized while still maintaining its classic feel through small touches like keeping both stars intact on either side of the mauler character headgear despite having added additional colors into play now too!
Today's Pittsburgh Maulers' logo is very similar to what we saw back in 1986; however there have been slight tweaks made here or there since then - mainly just minor changes in terms of font size/style & overall shape/design composition so nothing drastic enough where one would be able to notice any huge differences between them unless you were specifically looking out for those kinds details! All-in-all though this iconic emblem remains timeless & continues representing not only our beloved City Of Champions but also all who proudly donned these jerseys during USFL days gone past...Go MAULERS!!
