Bringing back kind of an old concept here, this is for the Pittsburgh Penguins. The team really needs a new jersey design, so why not a return back to the classic yellow and black to go along with it? The concept incorporates a few different eras of Penguins history. Pinstripes taken from the wild black jerseys of the late 90s, the diagonal Pittsburgh script from the retro years of the team, and of course the basic striping schema of the early 2000s Penguins, the uniforms that Crosby came in to the league with. Logo package has been modernized, including a design incorporating the city’s triangle motif and a front-facing penguin. Numeral font is all-new and custom, accented by the font called Citizen Kern. A few really interesting elements here– namely the fade on the pinstripes and yellow alternate with striping across the chest– but hey, it’s a concept! why not have a little fun.
