The Orlando Magic are one of the few teams in the NBA that have always had a great team brand and look. They have been able to stay consistent in their colors (black, blue, silver), and with their logos. They all have had slight upgrades, but have been able to stick to the look and feel that makes the Magic feel like Magic.
I wanted to keep that same consistency with my concept.

This design features a magic hat/top hat. The top hat is also a rim and net, as well as an “O” and “M”, for Orlando Magic. The basketball sticking out can be a ball going through the rim, or a ball being pulled out of a top hat. The first three designs show the primary logo. The shape is similar to fortune teller and playing cards, to further symbolize the ‘Magic’ theme. The next four designs show different secondary logos, to be used on a variety of mediums.

The Orlando Magic could use an update. In lieu of Throwback Thursday, a project from 2009. Looking to rehash and refresh this.

I remember looking at the DVD cover of one my favorite movies “The Princess Bride”. I noticed that if you turned the cover upside-down, the text would read the exact same! I thought it was magic! I wanted to try something similar with the Orlando Magic logo. There is no difference between this logo being upside-down or right-side up.
