Made for part 8 of my NHL redesign series. As you can see, it’s an obvious homage to Minnesota’s original NHL team the North Stars, however I’ve incorporated the North Star of the Wild’s current identity into this logo.
I didn’t design this for the purpose of replacing their existing primary crest, which I think is absolutely marvelous and one of the best in the NHL. This secondary mark I made to appeal to the fans who clamor the return of the North Stars as Minnesota’s NHL team. That however is not happening anytime soon because the original franchise still exists as the Dallas Stars, and they own all the rights and such. So what I have here, which is to be the third jersey crest, is the next best thing I have to offer.
