NFL concept logos of the Indianapolis Colts by various design artists from around the world. These are redesigned ideas and not actual team logos.

The Indianapolis Colts are one of few NFL franchises who have gone decades without rebranding their organization. In Indy’s case, those decades span across two cities, the other being Baltimore, Maryland. In 2015 the Indianapolis Colts surpassed an important milestone in team history. They have been in Indianapolis longer than they were in Baltimore. The Colts truly became Indianapolis’s team.
In that important milestone, Indianapolis still shares the same brand identities as the earlier Baltimore Colts. While it is important to remind ourselves where the Colts came from, it is equally important to forge new grounds and let the nation know, WE ARE INDIANAPOLIS.
This is a rebrand I did for the NFL team Indianapolis Colts. This is completely conceptual and is not an actual identity of the Indianapolis Colts organization.

I really wanted to do something besides the obvious for the Colts. I tried being clever with the main image being a horse with its hooves exposed to show the horseshoe as a ‘C’, but there was no clean angle to be found out of all the sketches I did. In the end I resorted to making the horseshoe slightly more realistic in appearance and rotated it 90º to look like the letter ‘C’.
The Colts are another one of those teams where the logo is too iconic to change drastically and to change the theme too much would render the team unrecognizable. Another driving factor in the development of these designs is that if the fans of the NFL and their teams can’t instantly recognize the logos and what team they belong to without context then I’ve missed the point.
