MLB concept logos of the Boston Red Sox by various design artists from around the world. These are redesigned ideas and not actual team logos.

The most noticeable change to the entire set is the new take on the “hanging socks” logo. Now, it showcases the classic striped sock pattern. I figured it’d be a good way to incorporate the hosiery more into the identity, and hammer home the navy/red balance of the look. The primary logo has a new baseball and keeps my navy/red “Boston” and red/navy “Red Sox” division. The “color flip” will be a distinctive element for the Red Sox in this series, as I don’t plan on implementing it for other teams.

However, I decided to ditch the sox and replace it with the very famous and popular “B”. I created two versions, a navy- and a red-heavy logo. I didn’t change the basic design of the original mark from 2009, simply because it’s a classic.

In order to redesign the Red Sox, I wanted to keep the old nostalgic feel, while still modernizing the team. I started with making the red a little darker and the blue a little lighter to have the color compliment each other better and added accents to the socks and the letter “B.”
