Texans Alternate Logo
The Houston Texans alternate logo has been a part of the team's identity since its inception in 2002. The original design was created by artist Pat Musick, who also designed the team's primary logo. The alternate logo featured an oil derrick with three stars above it, representing Texas' history as an oil-producing state and its status as "the Lone Star State." This iconic image quickly became synonymous with the Texans franchise and is still used today on merchandise and apparel.
In 2012, to commemorate their 10th anniversary season, the Texans unveiled a new version of their alternate logo featuring six stars instead of three – one for each year they had been in existence at that point. This updated look included additional detail such as rivets around the derrick’s base which further emphasized Texas’ connection to energy production while retaining all elements from previous iterations that fans had come to recognize over time.
Today this same six star design is still used by Houston Texans fans throughout Texas when showing support for their favorite NFL team; whether it be through clothing or tailgating accessories like flags or banners - you can always spot those distinctive red stars proudly proclaiming “Go Texan!”
